As we mentioned above, the 2021 Toyota Sienna is hybrid-powered for every trim level now. There are several components that make up the hybrid system which produces a net horsepower of 245 hp. This hybrid system consists of a 2.5-liter 16-valve gasoline engine with DOHC, D-4S injection and Dual VVT-i, Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motors, and a Sealed Nickel-Metal Hydride traction battery. This system is then paired with an Electronically controlled Continuously Variable Transmission with sequential shift mode.
The 2021 Sienna can be equipped with an Electronic On-Demand All-Wheel Drive System or a front-wheel drive system. When equipped with FWD, the Sienna has a fuel economy rating of 36 city mpg, 36 highway mpg, and 36 combined mpg. The fuel economy changes to 35 city mpg, 36 highway mpg, and 35 combined mpg when the Sienna is equipped with AWD.
